SPOON THEORY
For many disabled people, juggling time, energy and money is
an equation that simply does not add up. Spoon Theory puts the player in the
shoes of Chloe, a young woman with lupus, and charges them with this equation.
Spoon Theory is a 3D resource management game with a focus on disability. The player is given a limited amount of "spoons", based on their current degree of hunger and exhaustion, and asked to balance these resources to gain others. Created by the student team Pi Studios, the project got an A.
For Spoon Theory I was primarily the team lead, with secondary roles as a programmer and animator. I maintained the long-term roadmap, the SCRUM sprints, I was the only point of contact between the team and the clients, as well as the weekly builder and playtester of the project. I created and implemented every animation seen in-game.
